About me
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Turin, where I work within the BraIn Plasticity and Behavior Changes (BIP) research group. Before joining the University of Turin, I held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Humanities Research Centre at the University of York, where I also earned my PhD in Philosophy in 2022 under the supervision of Gregory Currie. Earlier in my academic path, I studied Comparative Literature at the University of Turin.

My research lies at the intersection of the philosophy and the sciences of mind. I am particularly interested in aesthetics, which I conceive not merely as the study of our experiences of beauty and art, but as a privileged lens through which to investigate the workings of our mental life in general. I tackle this inquiry both theoretically and experimentally. On the theoretical side, I strive to develop integrative frameworks that connect long-standing philosophical insights with contemporary findings in cognitive science. On the experimental side, I employ behavioural, neuroimaging, and computational methods to investigate our aesthetic experiences and their interaction with key cognitive phenomena such as learning, attention, memory, affect, and motivation.

In addition to my research, I am actively involved in a range of initiatives that aim to foster dialogue between the arts, the humanities, and the sciences of mind. I regularly organise interdisciplinary conferences and workshops, as well as outreach and public engagement projects. I am always looking for new collaborations both within and beyond academia that highlight the heuristic power of the arts and aesthetics and their positive impact on shared human experience.
